A fruitful beading session

by Deviled Jess on May.17, 2009, under Archives

Okay, so I promised to post some pictures about the free beading class today. And as promised, I’ve already took a handful of it and edited beautifully in Photoshop. There won’t be much to say as pictures say a thousand words. This happens to be my first ever beading class since all the other times I done beading, it was self-taught. Did I mention? I went for the class with my mom! :glad:

Tools and materials used

The tools and materials used in this beading session. (Wire, round-nose plier, flat-nose plier, wire cutter, measuring tape, assorted beads, and findings.)

Purple faux pearls

We were told to choose any colored pearls we wanted. There were LOADS of colors. But of course, I chose my favorite. The dark purple. My mom on the other hand, chose a dark blue shade.

Crystal beads and findings

Here we have clear crystals, clear beads, metal beads, and some findings.

Finished necklace

This is my finished necklace. Looks like it’s black, am I right?

Finished necklace, closer view

Wrong. It’s obviously purple!

Mom's finished necklace

My mom’s finished necklace. Looks a bit like black too if you didn’t enlarge the picture.

Now you can actually see that it’s a shade of blue.

Both necklaces

Now let’s compare them. See the color difference now? When pitted against each other, we can definitely tell the color of each necklace now.

The blue necklace

The blue necklace (just to show how good I took the picture).

The purple necklace

The purple necklace (again, just to show you my photo-taking skills).

A bunch of finished necklaces

They ALL MINE!!! I wish! Other than mine and my mom’s. The rest belongs to the other people who were there for the free class as well.

Another view of the many many sparkly necklaces. The necklace way at the back with the silver faux pearls is actually the sample we were suppose to follow. That one looks better because it had better findings. The host forgot to bring it, so we had to make use of alternatives. Oh well.

My finished set

My finished set. Comprising of a necklace, a bracelet, and a pair of necklaces. Amount of time used, approximately 2-3 hours.

Well guys, that’s it for the pictures. I hope you enjoyed the pictures as I enjoyed beading and taking them. That’s really all for now. But I’m gonna go out again on Monday so there’ll be more pictures after that too! I believe I’m now being a good girl to start blogging so much again. I can only blame my busy schedule for the past few years to take my pleasures of blogging away.

But all is not lost because I’m reviving and this blog will thrive again soon!
