The holidays have since come and gone. And to tell you the truth, I’m damn glad about it. I was getting bored of being cooped up at home doing absolutely nothing actually >.>
I’ve just begun my industrial training as an intern at the Womens Aid Organization. And boy, it was the right choice after all.
In the beginning, it was just plain anxiety about meeting the people already working there, the women, and the children. But so far, it’s been all good. My seniors were all rather nice to us, even sympathized with us when they handed work to us (seriously, the statistic work was a horror. Unorganized, had to read through doctors handwriting to be able to finish it). We finished it all ahead of time too.
The women living there are more or less in their own world, and it was hard for me to just go up and start interacting with them. I myself have been living in a complete family where my mom and dad are more or less in love with each other and never was there abuse in the family. So it’s a challenge when it comes to these women. I know their situation but do not understand it.
To know is not to understand.
So this week at least, I’ll be trying to read up on past cases (P & C, so I can’t mention them here. Very unethical) and see what they have been though and try to put myself in their shoes.
The children are all lovely kids. So very nice to us (WL is working with me there) and they have very keen eyes when noticing things. Very eager to learn and to communicate with us. Of course, some of them have very sad looking eyes, when looking at them eyes, it’s as if I was drowning in their sorrow, their souls pulling me into those sad pools of eyes asking for some love. All of them are more matured than they looked which kind of pulled at my heartstrings at what they have gone through.
It’s just weird, for me that is, to say that, I like it there. Just being with the kids and playing with them. Trying to comprehend what these women and children have had to have gone through to be there…it’s so sad yet feels like a warm place. Especially when they form their own community and trying to help each other out.
This internship is an experience that I’ll never forget as I continue to work there day by day.

yes, perhaps my amateurish bloggings will be more organized this time around =D I have yet to decide whether or not to keep my previous main blog. But most likely, I will. It’s my source of income after all
